Man Arrested For Outrage Of Modesty

The Police have arrested a 42-year-old man for his suspected involvement in two cases of outrage of modesty.

On 30 July 2021 and 8 August 2021, the Police received two separate reports from two victims claiming that they had been molested by an unknown man while on board a bus in the vicinity of Tampines.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from the Police cameras, officers from Public Transport Security Command and Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 7 September 2021.

The man will be charged in court on 9 September 2021 with two counts of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up two years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments.
