Man Arrested For Outrage Of Modesty

The Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.

On 20 December 2021 at about 10.30pm, the Police received a report that a victim was purportedly molested by a man at Jalan Rumah Tinggi.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on the following day.

The man will be charged in court with outrage of modesty on the 22 December 2021. The offence of outrage of modesty, punishable under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, carries an imprisonment term which may extend to two years, or fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
