We thank Mr Liang Shi Ren for his letter “Traffic Police should improve communication efficiency” (July 6).

We understand Mr Liang’s frustrations about not being notified by the Traffic Police (TP) on the rejection of his Medical Examination Report (MER). Mr Liang raised the matter to our attention on 25 May and we helped to resolve it the next day. The delay in processing the MER was caused by a system glitch, which has since been rectified.

We apologise for Mr Liang’s unpleasant experience. TP is committed to improving our service.

Applicants may also wish to note that they may check the status of their renewal application online after submission.
