Man Arrested For Housebreaking

The Police have arrested a 50-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking. 

On 24 August 2023 at 11.29am, the Police received a report of a case of housebreaking where a place of worship located at 200 Bedok Reservoir Road, was broken into. Preliminary investigations revealed that on 21 August 2023 at about 1am, an unknown man had allegedly climbed into the place of worship and used a long object found within the compound to change the CCTV angle. The man then purportedly tampered with a donation box. 

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV footage, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 28 August 2023.

The man will be charged in court on 29 August 2023 with Housebreaking punishable under Section 451 Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.
