Woman Arrested For Cheating

The Police have arrested a 28-year-old woman on 2 October 2023 for her suspected involvement in a case of cheating.

On 30 September 2023, the Police received a report that an administrative officer of a private company had allegedly submitted false payment requests and created fraudulent payment transactions on the pretext of paying for company supplies. She purportedly transferred funds amounting to more than $350,000 to her personal bank account from June 2022 to August 2023. 

Through follow-up investigations, officers from Woodlands Police Division arrested the woman on 2 October 2023 in the vicinity of Yishun Industrial Street. 

The woman will be charged in court on 4 October 2023 with the offence of Cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.

The Police take a serious view of cheating offences, and offenders will be dealt with severely in accordance with the law.
