Chief of the Indonesian National Police Conferred the Distinguished Service Order

Police General Drs. Badrodin Haiti, Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP), was conferred the Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Distinguished Service Order) by President Tony Tan Keng Yam on Monday, 11 July 2016, at the Istana. Prior to the conferment ceremony, Police General Drs. Badrodin called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam and Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck.

 

Police General Drs. Badrodin was appointed the Chief of the INP on 17 April 2015. As the Chief of the INP, he has built extensive networks with his international counterparts to combat transnational crime and terrorism. This is testament to his commitment towards international collaboration. 

 

In particular, Police General Drs. Badrodin has enhanced the close and long-standing bilateral ties between the INP and the Singapore Police Force (SPF). Under his leadership, both Police Forces have strengthened cooperation in maritime security, counter terrorism and combatting transnational crime.

                        

Police General Drs. Badrodin was conferred the Distinguished Service Order for his outstanding contribution in fostering excellent ties and cooperation between the INP and SPF, which has enhanced the safety and security of both countries.

 

Highlighting the importance of international cooperation in the fight against transnational crime, Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck said: “The Indonesian National Police is a close strategic partner of the Singapore Police Force. We will continue to work closely with them to combat transnational crime and overcome new and emerging security challenges, so as to keep both our countries safe and secure.”
