A total of 13 retail outlets are being investigated for various offences related to the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act 2015, following enforcement operations conducted from 5 to 20 October 2025 within the Liquor Control Zone in Little India. These operations are part of the Police’s ongoing efforts to ensure the retailers comply with liquor control regulations.
Among the 13 retail outlets, one was found to have allegedly converted part of its retail space into a makeshift area for alcohol consumption, which is not permitted under their licensing conditions. Three were found to have allegedly supplied liquor without holding a valid licence. The remaining nine retail outlets are being investigated for allegedly contravening the prescribed trading hours within a Liquor Control Zone.
Any licensee who contravenes the prescribed trading hours within a Liquor Control Zone shall be guilty of an offence under the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumptions) Act 2015 and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000. Any person who supplies alcohol without a valid liquor licence shall be guilty of an offence under the same Act and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $20,000. For repeat offenders, to a fine not exceeding $20,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months or to both.
