Two Men Arrested For Housebreaking With Common Intention Within 11 Hours Of The Reports

The Police have arrested two men, aged 19 and 22, for their suspected involvement in two separate cases of housebreaking and theft.

The Police were alerted to the first case on 17 November 2025 at about 8.05am, at a school canteen along Jurong West Street 72, where cash amounting to $70 and a mobile phone were purportedly stolen. A second similar case was reported at about 8.25am, at a school canteen along Jurong West Street 41. No valuables were reported missing.

Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the two men and arrested them within 11 hours of the reports.

Both men will be charged in court on 19 November 2025 with the offence of housebreaking with common intention, punishable under Section 451 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.

The Police would like to advise members of the public to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  • Secure all doors and openings with good quality grilles and closed-shackle padlocks before leaving your premises unattended, even for a short while;

  • Refrain from keeping large sums of cash and valuables in your premises; and

  • Install a burglar alarm, motion sensor light and/or CCTVs, to cover the access points into your premises. Ensure that they are tested periodically and are in good working condition.
