From 30 March 2026, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) will revise the operating hours of its service counters and service hotlines that are currently not operating 24/7. This includes the service counters at Traffic Police (TP) and Police Regulatory Department, Police Investigation Branch hotlines and Police’s Public Feedback hotline. There will be no change to the operating hours of service counters and service hotlines that are currently operating 24/7, such as those for Neighbourhood Police Centres, Police’s ‘1800 255 0000’ hotline and the Police ‘999’ Emergency hotline.
Current operating hours of non-24/7 service counters and service hotlines
The current operating hours of non-24/7 service counters and service hotlines vary across SPF. For instance, such service counters generally operate from 8.30am to 5.30pm on weekdays, except for Central Division’s Warrant Enforcement Unit which operates from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. The current operating hours of most non-24/7 service hotlines are also from 8.30am to 5.30pm on weekdays, except for Police Investigation Branch hotlines that operate from 8.30am to 6pm on Mondays to Thursdays, and from 8.30am to 5.30pm on Fridays. The TP operates on a five-and-a-half-day week, and is the only SPF unit to do so, with TP service counters and hotline also operating on Saturdays from 8.30am to 1pm.
The review of the operating hours of non-24/7 service counters and service hotlines is part of SPF’s ongoing efforts to optimise resources while ensuring that its services remain accessible to the public. Over the years, SPF has digitalised its services to enable members of the public to transact online with the Police. This has significantly increased ease and convenience for the public. SPF has also been enhancing the usability and accessibility of its e-services and implemented an interactive voice response system for its service hotlines, to enable members of the public to continue accessing self-help options during the periods when the hotlines are not manned.
These enhancements have reduced demand for Police counter services and service hotlines. In 2025, transaction volumes for non-24/7 service counters and service hotlines between 8.30am and 9am, and between 5.30pm and 6pm, were relatively low, with about 90% of all transactions occurring between 9am and 5.30pm.
Revised operating hours of non-24/7 service counters and service hotlines
Going forward, the operating hours for non-24/7 service counters and service hotlines (except for TP) will be revised as follows:
- Monday to Friday: 9am to 5.30pm
- Closed for lunch break: 1pm to 2pm (applicable to specified service counters only)
- Closed on weekends and public holidays
The list of affected service counters and service hotlines can be found in the Annex.
For TP, SPF will maintain the weekday operating hours of 8.30am to 5.30pm. TP will continue to start half an hour earlier than other non-24/7 service counters and service hotlines, as the demand for TP counter services and hotline between 8.30am and 9am remains high. However, TP will cease its service counter and service hotline operations on Saturdays, as few people visit TP in person or call TP’s service hotline on Saturdays. The total number of appointment booking slots per week remains unchanged.
The revised operating hours will enable SPF to prioritise and focus our resources on the days and times with higher demand. Outside these periods, members of the public can continue to access the services online.
Members of the public with existing appointments will continue to be served as per their booking, i.e. same day and time as stated in their appointment. Members of the public who require assistance or have queries can contact the SPF Feedback Portal at www.police.gov.sg/feedback or the SPF Feedback Hotline at 1800-358-0000.
