Merger Of Kampong Java Neighbourhood Police Centre And Bukit Timah Neighbourhood Police Centre

Kampong Java Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC) and Bukit Timah NPC will merge to form Kampong Java NPC on 25 May 2026. The merging of NPCs aims to optimise limited Police resources by combining smaller NPCs serving adjacent areas into a larger operational base. This is part of the transformation of Police’s frontline operations to better address evolving security challenges and community needs, which includes plans to progressively increase the number of Police cameras (PolCams) to more than 200,000 cameras island-wide, including in and around the Kampong Java and Bukit Timah estates.

The merger of both NPCs will:

  1. Enhance Police’s deployment flexibility, and improve operational effectiveness. The Community Policing Unit in the merged NPC can organise larger scale community policing events. The merged Crime Strike Force will also have better coordination and control in dealing with more complex crimes and incidents.
  2. Result in no change in police presence and incident response in Kampong Java and Bukit Timah estates. The number of Ground Response Force officers patrolling and responding to incidents within the merged NPC’s coverage, will remain the same as the total deployed today in both estates.

Following the merger, Bukit Timah NPC’s service counter will close for renovation. The NPC will re-open as Dunearn Neighbourhood Police Post (NPP) tentatively by Q4 2027.

During the period when Bukit Timah NPC is under renovation, residents may lodge a report for non-emergency cases:

  1. Online at https://www.Police.gov.sg/e-services
  2. At Buona Vista NPP’s self-help kiosk; or
  3. At Kampong Java NPC if residents require in-person counter services.
