Controlled Disposal Of War Relic Found At A Construction Site Along Tanah Merah Coast Road

On 31 March 2026 at 4.55am, the Police were informed of a war relic discovered at a construction site along Tanah Merah Coast Road during construction works.

The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team assessed the war relic to be a 250kg World War II aerial bomb that is unsafe to move.

The SAF EOD team will carry out an on-site controlled disposal of the war relic on 2 April 2026 between 2.30am and 4.30am. The disposal will be contained within the construction site premises. Areas accessible to the public will not be affected.

Loud sounds can be expected during the controlled disposal. Members of the public are advised not to be alarmed.

The Police are working closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Changi Airport Group, SAF, and Singapore Civil Defence Force to ensure that the controlled disposal of the war relic is carried out safely.
