The Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for possession of prohibited weapons and offensive items.
On 6 April 2026 at about 10am, the Police were alerted to a case of projectiles being fired from a residential unit along Potong Pasir Avenue 1. Officers from Ang Mo Kio Division responded to the incident and arrested the man at his residential unit.
During the investigation, officers discovered a substantial cache of weapons and prohibited items in the unit. The seized items included two pre-charged pneumatic rifles, four BB guns, four gel blasters, eight bows with 36 arrows, three 3D-printed crossbows with 83 arrows, three slingshots, nine flip knives, three knives with sheaths, one stun device, one extendable baton, and various projectiles. Officers also recovered a 3D printer and 17 rolls of printing filament believed to have been used to manufacture some parts.
The man will be charged in court on 8 April 2026 under Section 7 of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958. He is potentially facing additional charges under the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Act 2021 and the Penal Code 1871.
The Police have zero tolerance for such brazen acts which could have potentially caused hurt to members of the public. We will not hesitate to take stern action against those who blatantly disregard the law.
