The Police have arrested three men, aged between 22 and 23, for their suspected involvement in a case of armed robbery with hurt.
On 10 April 2026 at about 11.25pm, the Police were alerted to a case of armed robbery with hurt along Rangoon Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that the three men had allegedly made prior arrangements to go to a residential unit. Upon entering the unit, one of the three men allegedly brandished a knife. The three men then assaulted four victims who were in the unit and demanded cash from them at knifepoint. Out of fear, the victims complied with the demands and handed over cash amounting to $16,300, one gold chain and one gold bracelet before the men fled the scene. Three of the victims sustained minor injuries.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Central Police Division and the Police Operations Command Centre established the identities of the three men and arrested them at Marsiling Drive on 11 April 2026. A knife was recovered and seized as a case exhibit.
The three men will be charged in court on 13 April 2026 with the offence of armed robbery with hurt under Section 394 read with Section 397 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of between five to 20 years, and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
The Police will not tolerate such brazen acts of crime and will spare no effort to apprehend such offenders and deal with them in accordance with the law. Members of the public who encounter such cases are advised to remain calm, take note of the physical appearance and distinctive features of the perpetrator, and call the Police as soon as possible.
