The Police have arrested seven men, aged between 18 and 33, for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting.

The Police have arrested seven men, aged between 18 and 33, for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting.

On 24 July 2026 at about 8pm, the Police were alerted to a fight at Block 243 Yishun Ring Road. Upon Police’s arrival, officers found a man with injuries at the carpark near the block. The 48-year-old man sustained head and body injuries and was conveyed unconscious to the hospital.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division, Criminal Investigation Department and Police Intelligence Department established the identities of the persons involved and arrested them between 25 and 28 July 2026.

Six men, between 18 and 27, will be charged in court on 29 July 2026 with the offence of rioting under Section 147 of the Penal Code 1871. Investigations are ongoing against the remaining 33-year-old man. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years and caning.

The Police will not tolerate such brazen acts of violence and blatant disregard of the law. We will spare no effort to apprehend those responsible and deal with them in accordance with the law.
