The Ministry of Health (MOH) has commenced COVID-19 vaccination, starting with groups that are most at risk, such as healthcare workers, frontline and essential services workers, as well as seniors. Eligible individuals will be progressively invited to make appointments for their vaccination via the National Appointment System. These individuals will be notified via SMS and provided with a unique link to access the National Appointment System to schedule their appointment.
Seniors will also receive a personalised letter inviting them to sign up for their vaccination. In addition, community volunteers from the People’s Association, as well as our Silver Generation Ambassadors will be conducting house visits and tapping on existing grassroots events, to answer queries and help our seniors to book an appointment if necessary.
To avoid falling prey to COVID-19 vaccination-related scams, members of the public are advised to take the following precautions upon receiving messages in relation to COVID-19 vaccination:
- Be vigilant. Check the message for grammatical errors and ensure that the unique link ends with “gov.sg” before clicking on it.
- Messages which request for payment to receive the vaccination or to obtain early access are false. The vaccination is provided free of charge to all eligible Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and long-term residents. MOH will not ask you to make any payment to schedule or to receive the vaccination.
- Do not share your unique link provided for the booking of your COVID-19 vaccination slot. The link can only be utilised by the individual registered to it.
- When in doubt, verify the authenticity of the message by calling the MOH hotline at 1800-333-9999.
