Growing up, Supt Rimyzad would listen intently to exciting Police stories from his late brother-in-law and elder brother, who were Police officers. Thirty-two years of service later, Supt Rimyzad shares fondly of his own experience in the Singapore Police Force.
Supt Rimyzad started his journey in 1993 at the Airport Police Division as a Full-time Police National Service (PNSF) officer and signed on as a regular in 1995. Currently, he is the Head of Operations at Clementi Police Division.
Throughout his career, his frontline experience includes working as a patrol officer, managing lock-up operations, conducting investigations, and leading a Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC) as Commanding Officer. He had also served as a planning officer and Head of Operational Logistics at the Police Logistics Department.
Supt Rimyzad is also part of the Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU) – a specialised group of officers who are trained to stay calm in chaos, stepping in with negotiation and communication tactics to save lives during crisis situations such as suicide attempts and hostage incidents. In his role as the CNU Team Coordinator, he supports the Ground Commander to ensure a successful resolution to the operation.
Drawing from the 23 years of experience in the CNU, each crisis intervention has deeply impacted Supt Rimyzad, with every successful rescue strengthening his commitment to the unit. His belief in Police officers as community guardians and the unwavering support from his team and family drive his continued service every day.
