Man Arrested For Mischief By Fire

The Police have arrested a 48-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of mischief by fire.

On 28 November 2021 at 9.47pm, the Police received a call for assistance for a case of fire at Block 31 Bendemeer Road. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, the man was arrested on 29 November 2021 at about 1.50am. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in another case of mischief by fire reported along Mcnair Road on 29 November 2021 at around 12.10am.

The man will be charged in court on 30 November 2021 with mischief by fire under Section 435 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to seven years, and a fine.
