A 39-year-old male Singaporean, Muhammad bin Kadar, had his death sentence carried out on 17 April 2015 at Changi Prison Complex.

 

2          On 6 May 2005, Muhammad bin Kadar stabbed a 69-year-old woman to death in her flat while robbing her. She was stabbed more than 110 times. Muhammad bin Kadar was convicted of murder and sentenced to death on 7 April 2009.

 

3          Muhammad bin Kadar had been accorded full due process under the law. The Court of Appeal dismissed his appeal against conviction on 5 July 2011. On 29 September 2014, after hearing further arguments, the Court of Appeal dismissed his application for re-sentencing under the new death penalty regime and affirmed the sentence of death. He was represented by counsel throughout the legal process. He was also given the opportunity to petition the President for Clemency. His petition for Clemency was turned down.
