A motorist’s probationary driving licence will be revoked if he/she accumulates 13 or more demerit points within a period of 12 months from the issue date of the licence. He/she must retake and pass both the theory and practical tests.
A motorist's driving licence is liable for suspension when he/she accumulates 24 or more demerit points within a period of 24 months . When the suspension period is 12 months or more, the motorist’s driving licence will be revoked. He/she must retake and pass both the theory and practical tests.
Your suspension history will be cleared if you maintain a clean driving record (no new demerit points) for 24 months after your most recent suspension ends.

1.1 Pre-requisites or Eligibility Criteria
Appeals against the reduction of demerit points and disqualification of driving licence will be rejected. Traffic Police will not process such appeals.
Only appeals with extenuating reasons and supporting documentary proof will be reviewed.
Motorists are advised to attend the Safety Driving Course (SDC) which will enable the reduction of four demerit points, or the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS) Course which will enable the reduction of suspension period from 12 to 4 weeks (or to 1 week if the offence is not accident-related) and from 24 weeks to 12 weeks if they clear the course successfully.
