The Singapore Police Force (SPF) Band commemorated its 100th anniversary with a gala concert on 30 December 2025 at the Esplanade Concert Hall.  Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State (SMS), Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Ministry of Home Affairs, was the Guest-of-Honour. 

More than 1,000 guests attended the gala concert, which marked the culmination of a year of celebration of the SPF Band’s journey from its beginnings as the Second Straits Settlement Police Band in 1925, to Singapore’s oldest uniformed band in 2025. 

Themed “Bringing the Beat to You Since 1925,” the concert featured the SPF Band’s iconic pieces from across the decades, including its renditions of various classic music pieces, as well as original compositions and arrangements by current and past SPF Band officers. The concert also premiered “Bringing the Beat to You”, a special piece composed by the Director of Music, in honour of the Band’s 100-year legacy. 

For the first time, seven members of the public from the Episodic Volunteering Programme performed alongside the SPF Band, while nine SPF officers from various frontline units showcased their talents as ethnic dancers and musicians, demonstrating community collaboration and the Band’s unifying role within the SPF. 

Other special performances included one by Mr Taufik Batisah, a singer-songwriter who did his national service with the SPF Band. The full list of music repertoire performed at the gala concert can be found in Annex A.

The SPF Band has inspired through music, united communities, and represented the SPF with distinction on countless stages locally and around the world over a century. Superintendent Sulaiman Abdul Wahab, Director of Music of the SPF Band, said: “It is a tremendous honour to mark 100 years of the SPF Band. This concert celebrates not only our history and growth, but also the passion, artistry, and devotion of every officer—past and present—whose contributions have woven the rich tapestry of our enduring legacy.”
