The “Road Users on Watch” initiative was launched at the inaugural “SaferSG, Together1” roadshow by Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Ministry of Home Affairs, at Suntec Singapore Exhibition and Convention Centre on 7 March 2026. Over 2,000 guests attended the event. Please refer to Annex A for the event photographs.
Launch of “Road Users on Watch” Initiative
The "Road Users on Watch" initiative represents the evolution of the “Cyclists on Watch” scheme, which was launched in December 2021 and has grown to 11,900 members since. By broadening the scope to include all road users (pedestrians, motorists and cyclists), the initiative aims to create a more inclusive and comprehensive approach to road safety by fostering mutual respect and a shared sense of responsibility on Singapore's roads. The initiative operates on three key principles: i) establishing comprehensive safety measures that consider how different road users interact; ii) improving road etiquette through enhanced understanding between road users; and iii) driving community participation through multiple entry points. Participants will learn how different road users interact safely, develop better road etiquette through understanding others’ perspectives, and access practical safety education through community programmes and resources.
National Road Graciousness Campaign
SMS Sim Ann also announced that the Traffic Police (TP) would launch the National Road Graciousness Campaign later this year. This collaboration between TP, Land Transport Authority (LTA) and community partners aims to encourage shared responsibility and gracious behaviour amongst road users, thereby leading to safer roads.
TP will continue to foster and encourage road safety through collaborative education and community engagement. Sustainable road safety improvements can be achieved when all road users work together with mutual understanding and consideration. All road users are encouraged to sign up and be part of the ‘Road Users on Watch’ initiative via this link: https://www.police.gov.sg/Join-Us/Volunteer/Community-Watch-Scheme. Together, we can build a positive road safety culture and safer roads for all.

The national movement rallies the community in partnering the Singapore Police Force in four focal areas: Crime Prevention, Scam Education, Road Safety Education, and Emergency Preparedness.
