The Police will be charging a 48-year-old man for his alleged involvement in the murder of a 70-year-old man. 

On 9 March 2026 at about 8.15am, the Police were alerted to a case of fight along Lorong 16 Geylang. Upon Police’s arrival, officers found the 70-year-old man injured at scene. He was conveyed unconscious to the hospital where he subsequently passed away. The 48-year-old man was arrested at scene and conveyed conscious to the hospital. Preliminary investigations revealed that both parties are known to each other. 

The man will be charged in court on 10 March 2026 with murder under Section 302(1) Penal Code 1871. The offence of murder carries the death penalty. Police investigations are ongoing.
