When it comes to giving our best, whether as Police officers or national athletes, you can count on us!
This was demonstrated once again at the recently concluded Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, held in Thailand in December 2025. Did you know that when Team Singapore took the podium to receive the Bronze Medal for Tug-of-War (in the Mix 560kg class), six of the eight athletes were Police officers?
That’s just one of the awesome ways that our officers showed their mettle in the sporting arena. In total, 27 Police officers were part of Team Singapore, competing (or serving as officials) in Cricket, Cycling, Field Hockey, Indoor Hockey, Indoor Volleyball, Rugby, Shooting, Silat, Sport Climbing, Swimming, Taekwondo and Tug-of-War.
Drawn from a range of Police units, they did us proud with their sterling efforts. In addition to the Bronze Medal in Tug-of-War, Special Constable Sergeant (SC/Sgt) Nicholas Khaw won a Gold Medal in Taekwondo while Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Marah Moehammad Ishraf Bin Marah Moehammad Hoessein won a Silver Medal in Rugby, as did Sergeant (Sgt) Muhammad Affiz bin Mohamed Zakri in Silat.
On 6 February 2026, the athletes were hosted to an appreciation lunch by the Police Sports Association. At the lunch, Commissioner of Police (CP) How Kwang Hwee thanked them for their efforts, contributions and commitment to the 2025 SEA Games.
“It’s not easy for you to achieve excellence at the national level for sports,” said CP How, “and at the same time, to continue to do the work that you do, every day, every night, to keep Singapore safe and secure. I want to congratulate all of you once again and we are honoured to celebrate your successes with you.”
Well done to all the officers on Team Singapore at the 2025 SEA Games; you did us proud!
