Police have arrested a 25-year-old woman for her suspected involvement in vandalising a police camera at Blk 105 Jalan Bukit Merah.

On 21 January 2015 at about 3am, a member of public reported to the Police that a Police camera located Blk 105 Jalan Bukit Merah had been vandalised. Following extensive enquiries and investigations, officers from the Bukit Merah East Neighbourhood Police Centre’s Crime Strike Force managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested her along New Bridge Road at about 7.30pm on the same day.

Investigations are ongoing.

The offence of vandalism is punishable with a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years, and shall also, subject to sections 325(1) and 330(1) of the Criminal Procedure Code (2012 Revised Edition), be punishable with caning of not less than 3 strokes and not more than 8 strokes for men who are not more than 50 years of age.
