Man To Be Charged For Failing To Ensure That His Employee Does Not Provide Sexual Services

The Police will be charging a 61-year-old man on 5 May 2021 for failing to ensure that his employee does not provide sexual services in a massage establishment.

On 12 August 2020 at about 1.35pm, the Police conducted enforcement operations at a massage establishment along Jalan Kayu. Through follow-up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established that the man had purportedly failed to ensure that his employee does not provide sexual services.

The man will be charged with failing to ensure that his employee does not provide service services under Rule 12(1)(a), punishable under Rule 12(2) of the Massage Establishments Rules 2018. The offence carries a fine not exceeding $5,000. For repeat offenders, the offence carries a fine not exceeding $10,000, an imprisonment term of up two years, or both.

The Police take a serious view against any person who may be involved in such illicit business operations and perpetrators will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
