Woman Arrested For Theft

The Police have arrested a 37-year-old woman for her suspected involvement in a case of theft of Budget 2020 grocery vouchers.

On 11 October 2020, the Police received a report informing that someone had tampered with the letterboxes at one of the block along Lorong 7 Toa Payoh.

Through investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Tanglin Police Division arrested the woman on the same day along Lorong 7 Toa Payoh. Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman is believed to have stolen Budget 2020 grocery vouchers from letterboxes that do not belong to her. Police investigations are ongoing.

The offence of theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 carries an imprisonment term which may extend to three years, or fine, or both.
