The Police have arrested a 47-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of robbery with hurt.

On 25 August 2022 at about 10.30 pm, the Police were alerted by a member of the public who detained a man, believed to have robbed a woman at the vicinity of Yishun Street 11. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had allegedly assaulted a 45-year-old woman and fled with her handbag containing cash and valuables worth $500/-.

The man will be charged in court on 27 August 2022 with robbery with hurt under Section 394 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of not less than 5 years and not more than 20 years, and caning of not less than 12 strokes.
