Man Arrested For A Series Of Theft Cases

The Police have arrested a 52-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft cases.

Since January 2023, the Police have received several reports that delivered parcels and newspapers placed outside the victims’ houses in the vicinity of Tiong Bahru were being stolen.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 21 March 2023. Police investigations are ongoing.

The man will be charged in court on 23 March 2023 with theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years and a fine.
