Four Men To Be Charged For Cheating Involving Fraudulent Grab Claims

The Police have arrested four men, aged between 30 and 35, for their suspected involvement in a case of cheating involving fraudulent Grab claims.

On 16 July 2025, the Police received a report from Grab Singapore stating that the company had detected multiple fraudulent bookings made between May and July 2025, during which earnings were credited to registered Grab wallets despite the jobs not being completed.

Through follow-up investigations, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the four men and arrested them. Preliminary investigations revealed that the men had allegedly colluded to create fake Grab accounts and manipulate the platform to submit fraudulent claims, resulting in wrongful losses of more than $58,000 to Grab Singapore.

The four men will be charged in court on 28 November 2025 with the offence of cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.

The Police take a stern view of such fraudulent activities and will not hesitate to take action against those who seek to exploit digital platforms for illicit gain. The Police urge everyone to remain vigilant and use online services responsibly.
