17 Persons Arrested For Suspected Involvement In Vice-Related Activities

The Police have arrested 16 women and one man, aged between 21 and 41, for their suspected involvement in vice-related activities.

Between 3 and 4 September 2025, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, Central Police Division and Bedok Police Division conducted raids in the vicinity of MacPherson Road, King George’s Avenue and Sims Avenue, resulting in the arrests of these 17 persons for their suspected involvement in vice-related activities.

During the two-day operation, cash amounting to more than $2,000, mobile phones, and vice-related paraphernalia were seized. The 41-year-old man was arrested for allegedly collecting earnings from vice-related activities which is an offence under Section 146(1) of the Women’s Charter 1961. Investigations against the 16 women are ongoing.

The Police will continue to take tough enforcement action against those involved in syndicated vice activities. Under the Women’s Charter 1961,

  • Any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years and shall also be liable to a fine not exceeding S$100,000.

  • A person in or outside Singapore who, in the course of business, uses a remote communication service with a Singapore link that offers or facilitates the provision by a woman or girl to another person of sexual services in Singapore in return for payment or reward shall be liable to a fine not exceeding $100,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.
