The Police have arrested a 17-year-old teenager for his suspected involvement in a case of armed robbery.

On 18 December 2025 at about 10.35pm, the Police were alerted to a case of armed robbery along Jurong West Street 93. Preliminary investigations revealed that the teenager had allegedly swung a karambit towards the victim and demanded for him to hand over his mobile phone and gold ring.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the teenager and arrested him within 10 hours of the report. A mobile phone, gold ring, and a karambit were recovered and seized as case exhibits.

The teenager will be charged in court on 20 December 2025 for the offence of robbery when armed or with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt under Section 397 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of between five to 20 years, and at least 12 strokes of the cane.

The Police will not tolerate such brazen acts of crime and will spare no effort to apprehend such offenders and deal with them in accordance with the law. Members of the public who encounter such cases are advised to remain calm, take note of the physical appearance and distinctive features of the perpetrator, and call the Police as soon as possible.
