Two Men Arrested In Connection With Series Of Theft Of Motorcycle Side Mirrors

The Police have arrested a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old male teenager, for their suspected involvement in a series of theft cases involving motorcycle side mirrors.

Between 31 December 2025 and 15 January 2026, the Police received multiple reports of side mirrors being stolen from motorcycles at Jurong West, Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang estates. 

Through investigations and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identities of the two men and arrested them on 16 January 2026.

The 20-year-old man will be charged in court on 17 January 2026 with the offence of theft of motor vehicle component parts with common intention under Section 379A read with Section 34 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years, and a fine. 

Investigations into the 18-year-old male teenager are ongoing. 

The Police take a firm stance against offenders who commit such acts of theft and offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law. The Police would like to advise all motorcycle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  1. Park your motorcycle in well-lit areas;

  2. Install an anti-theft alarm for your motorcycle;

  3. Use a motorcycle canvas to cover the motorcycle, securing both ends;

  4. Use additional locking devices such as disc brake locks or install a suspension guard.
