Motorist To Be Charged With Dangerous Driving

A 25-year-old male driver will be charged in court on 25 February 2026 for dangerous driving.

On 14 December 2025 at about 12.50am, the Police were alerted to an incident involving a driver of a black car driving against the flow of traffic along Bartley Road East towards Tampines Avenue 10. The car had left the scene by the time the report was lodged.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of traffic cameras, officers from the Traffic Police subsequently established the identity of the driver and arrested him for dangerous driving.

The offence of dangerous driving under Section 64(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1961 carries a fine up to $5000, a jail term of up to 12 months, or both. In the case of a second or subsequent conviction, the offence carries a fine of up to $10,000, a jail term of up to two years, or both. Offenders may also face disqualification from driving all classes of vehicles.

The Police take a serious view of motorists who engage in dangerous driving behaviour that endangers the safety of other road users. The Police will not hesitate to take firm action against motorists who flout traffic laws.

Motorists are reminded to drive responsibly and courteously, observe traffic laws at all times, and remain vigilant on the roads. Stay alert for errant drivers who may pose a danger to you and other road users, even when you are driving safely. If you encounter dangerous driving, maintain a safe distance and report such incidents to the Police immediately. Road safety requires the collective effort of all road users. Together, we can make our roads safer for everyone.
