Police Advisory – Fake Singapore Pools Websites And Mobile Applications

The Police would like to alert the public of fake Singapore Pools websites and mobile applications available on Google Play store.

Victims may have come across fake Singapore Pools’ websites or mobile applications while browsing the Internet or Google Play store. Under the impression that the websites or mobile applications are legitimate, unsuspecting victims would download the application and place bets through it. They would only realise that they have been scammed after discovering that the payments were allegedly made to other companies instead of Singapore Pools. Subsequently, victims would verify with Singapore Pools and realise that the website or application do not belong to Singapore Pools.

The following two are examples of URLs impersonating Singapore Pools’ websites:

  • https://sgpools.online
  • https://www.sgpools.app

Members of the public are advised to adopt these crime prevention measures:

  1. Be wary of downloading fraudulent applications, even if they are available on official online application stores;

  2. Always verify the authenticity of the application with the official website or sources;

  3. Report any fraudulent transaction involving your e-payment accounts to the e-payment service provider immediately.

If you have information related to such crimes or if you are in doubt, please call the Police hotline at 1800-255-0000, or submit it online at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness. Please call ‘999’ if you require urgent Police assistance.
