A 23-year-old man has been charged in court on 18 December 2021 for the offence of committing a rash act.

On 16 December 2021, the Police received a report from a member of the public that a bicycle was allegedly thrown from a residential block along Edgedale Plains. With the aid of the images from police cameras, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division arrested a 23-year-old man on 17 December 2021.

The offence of committing a rash act, punishable under Section 336(a) of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term of up to six months, or a fine of up to $2,500, or both.

The Police have zero tolerance against acts that endanger the lives or safety of others and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law. The Police would like to seek the public’s assistance to step up vigilance in our neighbourhoods and alert the Police if persons are seen committing such reckless acts.
