Content Overview

Under Regulation 20 of the Private Security Industry (Private Investigation and Security Agencies) Regulations 2009, all licensed Security Officers or Private Investigators must carry a Security Officer Identification Card (ID card) while on duty for identification purposes. The ID card does not confer any statutory powers on its holder.

ID Card Application

Application For Security Officer Identification Card (ID Card)

  1. The Union of Security Employees (USE) administers the ID card application.
  2. You can only apply for an ID card at the USE ID Card portal.
  3. Before applying for a Security Office ID card, please ensure that you have:
    • A valid Security Officer Licence;
    • The requisite training certifications prescribed under the PWM and that your training status is Trained / Exempted^;
    • A softcopy of a recently taken passport-sized photo (must be 35 mm wide and 45 mm in length, without border, and taken within the last 3 months against a white background);
    • Your Singpass account ready; and
    • PayNow, eNETS or Credit/Debit Card for payment of $25.
  4. The steps to apply for the ID card are as follows:
    • Log in to USE ID Card portal using your SingPass.
    • Update your mobile number and email address.
    • Fill out the application form.
    • Upload a recently taken passport size photo (per specifications indicated in para 3(c) above).
    • Choose one of the following three payment methods and make a payment of $25 - PayNow, eNETS or Credit/Debit Card.
    • Upon successful payment transaction, book a date and time to collect your card. An email or SMS confirmation will be sent to you with the details of collection. 

^ HOW TO CHECK YOUR TRAINING STATUS

Log in to your GoBusiness Dashboard using your SingPass account.

  1. Select ‘Licensed Entities’ > ‘Singapore Police Force’.
  2. Select ‘Enquiry on Security Officer and Private Investigator Licences’
  3. Select ‘Search”

You will see your training status under the ‘Training Status Column’, and the list of certifications obtained.

If your training records are not updated, please submit an application for 'Update of Training Record and Experience' in GoBusiness for our processing using “Log in for Individual Users” and complete the followings steps:

  • Scroll down to “My Licences” and select the “Active” box.
  • Under “Action” column for Security Officer Licence, click on “Selection Action”, followed by “Amend”.

Do note that applications without supporting documents will be rejected.
