The Police have arrested a 29-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 17 March 2026 at about 3.30 pm, the Police received a report that an unknown man allegedly molested an 11-year-old female victim while she was walking along Woodlands Street 81 sheltered walkway.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within a day of the report.
The man will be charged in court on 19 March 2026 with the offence of outrage of modesty against a person below 14 years of age under Section 354(2) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to five years, a fine, a caning, or any combination of such punishments.
The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the personal safety of the community. Offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law. Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and to report to the Police immediately if they witness an incident of molestation or are aware of someone being a victim of molestation.
